| In 1968, a group of Nashville from a cross-section of the community discussed plans for an innovative airport management structure that would bring their city and region into the modern era of aviation.
Their goal was to provide a framework in which air carriers could interact with the community in a business-like manner. Authority planners did not want city taxpayers to bear all the costs of improved aviation.
There are extensive facilities at the airport including a bank, ATMs and postal services. There are numerous restaurants, from grab-and-go foods to fine dining, as well as several shops. The airport also has art exhibitions and live music performances on the ticketing level, a children's play area, a meditation area and a massage bar, where professional massage therapists offer seated chair massages. |
